A Week Above the Fjords
Granite cliffs, endless daylight and the most crowded viewpoint I've ever loved.

Summer in the north means the sun barely sets. For a photographer that's both a gift and a curse: golden light that lasts for hours, and almost no sleep.
Beating the crowds
The famous viewpoints are famous for a reason — and everyone knows it. The trick was to start hiking at 2 a.m. and arrive before the first tour groups.

People in the frame
I usually wait for empty scenes, but here the hikers gave the cliff its scale. Sometimes the crowd is the story.
Next time I'd bring a longer lens and more patience — and maybe an eye mask for the midnight sun.
